70 years of our wonderful National Health
Service was celebrated in the hospital garden on
21st July. It was a fine day but not too hot and
the idea was to make the event as 'vintage' as
possible. The Shaftesbury Town Band contributed
to the traditional atmosphere and an NHS flag
was flying just in front of the stunning views
from the garden.
There were traditional stalls: a raffle; a cake
& produce stall; throw the paper aeroplane;
guess the weight of the vintage sweets; a
tombola; and of course tea presented in
memory-jogging cups and saucers.
